Unless I just had some bad receivers, this series of receiver were just too 
unstable.  I found that placing an all plastic tuning tool into the area 
between the tuning capacitor and the oscillator module caused the receiver 
to shift frequency.  The projection tuning systemwas another problem.  THe 
radio was completely analog in readout and setability to frequency was poor 
at best. With the encrypted TTY modes that the military used, the receivers 
were just not suitable.
