I second Mike. I used a GRC-109 supply I got from Fair Radio
with the B- grounds lifted (absolutely required or you'll fry
your audio output transformer). Got about 5 watts out on AM.
I feed it to the gutter down spout on a two story apartment building.
Was able to check into the local AM net and QSO with guys at
250 miles with no problem. Of course, it was winter time ;-).
By doubling in the final, I worked a lot of 40 meter contacts, too.
