[Milsurplus] TBX-8...

There is no reason to doubt Archimedes' principle or the fact that a TBX
will float. A little off topic, but since it was started, I'll attempt to
finish it. Buoyancy, or the ability to stay afloat is a function of an
objects weight and volume which define it's density. If its density is such
that it can displace more water than its weight then it will sink. If it
displaces less, it will float. If it is equal, then its motion will be
dependent on external forces. Evidently a TBX with the cover securely on it
does not displace enough to sink. If the cover was not on it, then water
could find its way inside, adding to its existing density, and it would
sink. And sorry Ken, I do not have any extra covers. 73 - Mike
