If you have them, you may not wish to store Lithium batteries in your home 
because of potential toxic issues. I keep them in the shed.

S&G Photo in Philadelphia also advertises a nicad pack for the PRC-77. It 
does not seem to have the 3V needed for the PRC-25. I believe these units 
are well used, so you should plan on replacing the cells. You should also 
think about the differences between primary cells (non-rechargeable) 
available today and the secondary ones (rechargeable). The rechargeable 
ones have a fairly serious self discharge rate, so really lend themselves 
to regular usage. If you do not use it for a while, a rechargeable pack 
will need recharging every time you need it. Combine this with the fact 
that primary cells offer much more life per unit size than a rechargable, 
and you see that for occasional use, a primary battery wins every time, 
especially at the cost of $3 or so per battery.
