I bought a 1957 Austin Healy in 1968. I never had an electrical problem with
it during the 5 years I had it. I had a Drake TR-3 transceiver as my HF
mobile station in it.
I had the engine rebuilt after 100,000 miles when I had to feed it a quart
of 50 viscosity oil every 100 miles and the bearings were knocking like
crazy. After the rebuild it ran great again - synchronizing the twin SU
carbs wasn't easy but made the engine purr!
I have absolutely no complaints against Lucas!
My XYL had an MGB for a few years and never had any problems with that baby,
either!

P.S. I'd love to own a nice Morgan!!!

OK, I have a friend who 30 yrs ago dabbled in British sports cars AND who
was the first I heard call Joseph Lucas the Prince of Darkness AND who first
told me the "Astronaut's Nightmare" joke. Probably all on the day I met him.

It's all part of the British Sports Car Fancier's Body of Received
Wisdom....
