Yes- it was in the California radio room.  The codetalker
was listening directly to the relaying TBY.  More likely
that the relaying TBY would have spoken to a TBX in the
rear, which would then have talked to the California.

Wasn't french.  He's a russian born actor, struggling to 
sound like he's from Brooklyn ;-).  He plays the 
russian cosmonaut in "Space Cowboys," a movie that
is pure fantasy but a lot of fun, especially for us old farts.
