If the files are in Adobe Acrobat pdf format and you have access to a full
version of Acrobat (not just the reader).  Version 5 allows you to create an
index provided the content is saved as text.  If the document has a good
title in the summary it can be indexed as well.

Otherwise Ithink you punt.
