Just a note to all members of the list. There has been a lot of discussion
about my previous listings concerning types of equipment being searched
for. Let me set the record straight.
1]. The projection is to return the radio room itself to the configuration
it was when the ship landed at Normandy in June 1944.
2] The projection is to establish a museum aboard which will house
equipment used by those personnel served by the LSTs, not only at Normandy,
but throughout their life from Normandy to the end of the Vietnam war.
3] Not only will communications equipment appear in the museum but items
such as mess kits, metal trays, clothing and just about anything used or
worn by the troops aboard.
4] All of this is expected to be in place when the ship once again takes
to the seas and allows the current generation see what the LST was and
could do PLUS something for the vets who served aboard these wonderful ships.
I hope this sets the record straight and the flame throwers can be tuned
off until next time.
