More than 30 years ago I caused the sudden and mass extinction of most
of the 1.5 volt filament tubes in a BC-1335 by inadvertently connecting
it to a 12 vdc source when it was selected for 6 vdc operation.  Got it
working again by using the several tubes that came within it as spares,
along with a few from my dad's junkbox.  (I've still got the same unit
in my collection today.)
