[Milsurplus] FYI: Users with mail box size quota limits

If your mailbox is full, over the disk space limit allocated, your provider
(like juno), will send back a bounce message to the remailer. Before using
majordomo, I received probably thousands of these bounced notices. One for
each message that goes out and got bounced. If we had several days of busy
traffic, it amounted to a large number of bounced messages sent back to the
list administrator. If they piled up for a number of days, I had to manually
unsubscribe the offending account.

The new mailman program automatically monitors 'bounced' emails it tries to
send to subscribers. It alleviates the list administrator from having to see
these continual bounces. If an account bounces back all post for five
continuous days, the subscriber is now automatically removed.

With the new options a user has, he can set his account to an inactive
status, thus avoiding bounces and getting unsubscribed. If you travel away
from email access, I urge you to set your account to this mode before you
travel on an long trip that last for more that 4 days. If you do get caught
up in this, you can always resubscribe when you return.
