We have a good group here and everyone gets along most of the time.

I do not like having to post this. I apologize to the hundreds of
subscribers that were not involved.

This is only the third flaming occurrence in the last couple of years.
Unfortunately, these have stemmed from an old feud between two of our
subscribers on this list.

I've posted this before, but some subscribers have forgotten or are new to
the list.

Flaming, i.e. slanderous comments about another individual directly or
indirectly on this list is forbidden.

Let me repeat that:

Flaming, i.e. slanderous comments about another individual directly or
indirectly on this list is forbidden.

Users posting flaming content will be put on temporary moderated status
(their post are held for review before reflecting to users). Continued abuse
will result in a user being unsubscribed permanently.

Slanderous comments can lead to legal actions and neither myself as list
administrator nor the list owner of qth.net want to be sued over allowing
this to occur. It doesn't matter who is doing the posting or who they are
referring to. If you were in my position, would you want to risk litigation?

You have to remember this is a public forum with hundreds of subscribers and
potentially thousands of internet readers.
You can't legally make public derogatory comments about someone unless
substantiated with proof and that person charged and found guilty by judge
and jury. Otherwise it is slander and legal action can be taken against you
(or me as the list admin for allowing it to continue on the remailer).

Now to the case at hand:

The latest flaming incident tried using the thin guise of 'indirect
implication' where no names were given. It was still flaming. The particular
subscriber that started the flaming was warned and only put on temporary
moderated status. His last post that were held for review were approved and
reflected. He did not like being on moderated status and he removed himself
from this list. No one was 'banned'. There is nothing stopping him from
resubscribing if he so chooses and wants to follow the rules.

This isn't the crooks/good guy/bad guy list. Its about milsurplus. Let's get
back on track now.
