John & Group,

The first BC-221 model was the BC-221-T1. The first production model was=

the BC-221-A (there does not appear to have ever been a BC-221 [no suffix=

letter]) and the last was BC-221-AN. Letters skipped for one reason or
another were G,H,I,S, U,V,W,X,Y,Z,AB,AD,AI,AL and AM.

John, is is possible that you have one of the TS-164/AR's? This consists=

of the instrument portion of any model of the BC-221 installed in Case
CY-182/AR. The CY-182 is about the size of the LM case, except that it h=
as
a hinged front cover to hold the MC-177 calibration book transferred from=

the original BC-221 case. So it is about the size of a BC-221 case with
the bottom half cut off. The BC-221 nameplate mounted on the hinged cove=
r
of the BC-221 case was also supposed to be moved to the hinged cover of t=
he
CY-182. =

The TS-164/AR was supposed to be powered from the liason or command
receiver. In the rear of the CY-182 are some resistors and an 0D3. One
that I have that was NOSB had the wiring instructions for connecting it t=
o
the PL-103 plugged into the rear of a BC-348.

> Thanks to all who got back to me on my "Q" model. Unfortunatly, I
only =

have part of it. I have the main unit (but thats the important part). And=
 =

then someone has sawed the case in half. So only have the upper half that=
 =

the unit goes in. Need to build an outboard PS and then I am all set. At =

least its smaller size is now more managable, John
