Very likely in the HIGH VOLTAGE side/department ... this is the time
juncture when the amp switches it's self into the STANDBY position and the
HV led comes on indicating that the warm up period for the final is
completed and that HV would normally be present and AVAILABLE... so this
indicates a SHORT in the HV side.. and I bet on the INTERLOCK scheme.. the
rear primary supply power microswitch can be defeated by pulling OUT the
actuating arm beyond it's normal in and out travel lengths.. there is a
bleeder and bypass arm inside a flat brass and a button type isolator inside
that the open contact distance has to be maintained, verify this plastic
type button or tab is going down far enuff when the top cover is on.. to
test this put a temporary insulated spacer between the two contacts..
cardboard will do fine .. relight the power iniation and stand back... "
don't try this at home kids " disclaimer goes w/o saying.. if these
conditions all seem clear and fine then look at the bridge rectifier device
and verify it's condition... let me know and I do have a book so we can look
further if we need to.. your mileage will vary and damn sure your luck
will. but once you get this up and running you will really like this
setup.. mac/mc
