Hello,
The SCR-299 used BC-610-b,c,d with all the equipment mounted
on a table designed to fit in a chevy panel delivery truck. K-51 ?
Also all the audio control and field phone switching was incorporated
in the old style speech amps and table MC-269. The SCR-299 was equipped
and intended for operation up to 8 mcy. There was also a little piece
of junk antenna tuner that went with the 610.
With the procurement of the BC-610-E and later models, the SCR-299
now became the SCR-399 where all the audio switching in the speech amp
and
that stupid table went into the JB-70. The RX's were mounted into
chests
CH-120 and CH-121 and the whole mess was installed in a Shelter. The
BC-610
got a new B&W tuner and was equipped for operation to 18 mcy. The
shelter was placed on the back of 6X6 2 1/2 ton truck (maybe that was
the
K51), the SCR-499 was basically an SCR-399 without the Truck. All models
used the PE-95 generator that was tailored behind the truck.
The manuals that you refer to are wonderful sources of info
that show how the equipment was used in a radio SYSTEM rather than
the stand alone units most of use them as.
Hope this helps
