Hi all.
Here's a VERY interesting story.
_______
I'm sure everyone by now on this list, knows of my
website (at http://gathmannpast.tripod.com/). I get a
lot of e-mail because of this website. From all kinds
of people.
This week, I got an e-mail from someone reguesting my
help. She said that she was researching her father, in
a manner similar to the way I'm researching Louis and
Emil Gathmann. Like Louis Gathmann, her father was an
engineer who worked for the US Military.
His name was Moore. Mike (or Micheal) Moore. He was an
engineer for the US Military from the era around WW2
through 1952. During that time, he mostly designed, or
developed weapons- such as explosives, guns, etc. He
lived in PA state. In 1952, he was developing a weapon
of some short for the US Army. He was very far along,
and was going to file for a patent soon. Then, in
1952, one night, he was murdered, and the killer took
off with some of his work. Now, keep in mind that the
fact that he was designing anything was, as far as
things have indicated, was classified. Not many people
knew about it at all.
The story continues. The guy lived off of C-rations
(grin). He had a room which he filled from floor to
roof with C-rations, which the military supplied to
him when ever he was on a project. His whole family
lived off of the C-rations with him. One possibility
is that the c-rations allowed him to stay in his house
all of the time (that or the military wanted him to go
crazy and then kill himself- which I'm sure would
happen if someone lived off of C-rations for 20
years!).
His daughter was 2 years old when it happend- and saw
the whole thing. No other witness. Today, this
daughter is one of only 2 relatives of his that are
still alive. After her son died, she started having
flash-backs of the murder. Now she'd like to research
it to find out what happend in 1952.
I am not sure what it was he was envolved with, nor
does his daughter. Some short of weapon(s). Beyond
that I don't know anything.
Does the name M. Moore, or Moore ring any bells to
anyone out there?
What ever he was doing had to have had some
importance. If it didn't, then no one would have taken
the effort to kill him and take off with his work. Any
ideas?
It could be that he was working with military
electrical gear. I don't know either way. Does anyone
on this list reconise the name Moore in relation to
the military and/or military radios?
