Ben,

You could try moving companies and shippers for air freight
prices. Depends on what you are trying to ship, how big and how
heavy it is.

About three years ago, I shipped a small vehicle automatic
transmission from Washington DC to Manila, via Northwest,
and it ran $350, give or take a few dollars.

Also, try UPS.

I just recently (May) shipped about 180 pounds, via air freight,
Jacksonville FL to Athens Greece, and I believe that
price was about $1100, so you see the average price per pound
can vary quite a bit. That did not include the tail end
ground transportation to the ultimate destination, and I
took the box to the shipper's warehouse in JAX.

The nine-eleven evetns tho, have made the air shippers
wary, and in getting my package accepted, I had to call around
a bit in the JAX area, to find someone to take it, as I was not
a "known" shipper.
