One wants to be a little careful in ascribing sequence of appearance of
equipments strictly on the model assignment sequence.  There is often a
little item called politics which gets in between the concept of an idea
and its commitment to hardware.  I don't have any glaring specific
example to quote, but I have seen it happen frequently in modern times.
