Groups,

Last week I sorted through several pounds of BC-611 antennas. A couple o=
f
dozen were OK and went into "stock". Most were hopelessly bent or
otherwise damaged and are going to scrap. Some 20 or so would have been =
OK
had they not been missing the phenolic or bakelite finger at the bottom
that turns the radio on or off.

If anyone has a project that needs a telescoping whip antenna a little
longer and heavier than what RadShack normally has, these are available f=
or
the cost of packing and shipping. One or several. They are in four
sections. The diameter of the base section is about 0.285". Collapsed
length is 15". Extended length is 45". Give or take. There is a slight=

variation depending on when they were made. Base is hollow, or would be
without the remains of the bakelite. One of them fit properly in the
antenna holder on the BC-498-T2 and BC-978-A Target Transmitters that I
mentioned here a few weeks ago. Might sub for the sense antenna on some =
of
the small DF sets, although I don't have one of them to check. Too small=

to sub for an AN-45, though.
