Group,
Most of you who are at all familiar with the BC-611 Handie Talkie are
probably familiar with the BX-49-A Coil, Crystal and Spare Tube Box. Lon=
g
skinny box with hinged lid that holds twelve sets of coils and crystals a=
nd
either five or twelve spare tubes. I've had dozens of them. And some of=
you are probably familiar with the little BX-48, that holds one coil and
crystal set in the green Galvin box. They aren't really common, but I've=
had or seen several. =
But I had never heard of, let alone seen, the BX-49 until two of them
landed on my patio table last week. Larger version of the BX-48 (about 6=
"
x 11" x 3.5") with the same style of dove-tailed sliding cover. Holds 12=
of the green coil and crystal boxes plus tubes. I suppose that the tubes=
should be in the standard tube boxes, although the ones in these are just=
lying in there loose, as the BX-49 is just an open box. No felt lined
holes for tubes. And as I said above, the coil and crystal sets are all =
in
their little green cardboard boxes.
The twelve channels in both boxes are the same twelve normally seen in th=
e
BX-49-A's (4035-5500 KC).
