I've never seen a 348 without nameplate, probaby because they're
riveted on. The screwed on nameplates seem like they were an
invitation to 'civilianize' your radio by effacing any trace of its
previous ownership. Oh- slight correction- only 348 sans nameplate
i have seen was in photo in aviation fans magazine showing BC-348
on Niu Guinea mountainside - wreck finders had prized it off, as a
souvenir, but didn't lug out the entire radio, unfortunately, as it's now
probably total corrosion.
