This is a tone decoder for a "giant army radio control gizmo." No
receiver included.

It's one of the gizmos in "pilotless bombs" - read Cruise missiles w. props.

Does 6 frequencies from 120-250 hz. Like piano, logarithmically spaced
so no harmonic trubs.

Have a BC1158 here, p/o APW-7 "giant army radio control gizmo" system
& it has 6 logarithmically spaced frequencies from 300-3000 hz.

So the frequenciy range got compressed a lot between systems.

Wonder if C400/APW-9 took output from a marker-beacon receiver?

Then there's the BC-1157 that worked with the '1158. Have never seen one.

One list member reported there's a "APW" expert lurking here.

Would he please stand?

   Thanks

     Marty

...This C400 has a "6 14" switch on front & wonder if, say, 2 tones used
in a binary truth-matrix to get 4 states.
