Without adding too much more to this, I'd like to assure those who made
the original post(s) that(IMHO), while off-topic(we sometimes are),
these posts were nowhere near as offensive as those made by Bruce(quite
obviously). In comparison, the gas posts were likely closer to being
on-topic. Bruce was recently removed from another of the QTH lists
(R-390) for the same cry-baby/temper tantrum approach to dealing with
others and not getting his way. If he hasn't been removed from the
AMRadio list yet, he's likely close there, too. He never seems to offer
anything constructive, but instead prefers to sit on the sidelines and
take potshots at the comments of others who don't meet his specific form
of politically-correct liberalism and 'thought police' mentality. Bruce
would've made a good commie, too bad they're no longer in fashion. I'm
thinking....poster child for Prozac, now.
Sorry Ralph, I know your job is not an easy one and as you say - there's
no way to know how a person will act until they actually display their
tendencies on the list. I appreciate the job you do, as I'm sure most
others do. Some of us have specific knowledge of people like Bruce
simply because of our subscriptions to other lists, otherwise we'd have
as much advanced warning as you in this case(none). Thank you for
dealing with the matter. I'll wander back on topic, now...
I'm still searching for info on the Coast Guard R-649 made by
Hallicrafters. Manual, schematic, and especially other owners. Any info
would be appreciated, like the size thread used on the screws holding
the front panel to the cabinet. For years I've heard that the SX-73 was
the nearly-invisible military radio produced by Hallicrafters and
difficult to find information on, but it seems plentiful in comparison
to info on the R-649. Does anyone have knowledge of documentation
online?
Thanks -
