Nitpick - the forerunner of the BC-*-191, called a BC-114, was the one
designed in the 1920s. I think the BC-*-191 was on the drawing boards
around 1930 or so, with the first production ones coming out on a 1934
order.
The BC-114, by the way, did not use tuning units. It was also a really
bad radio.
