A drought in HFGCS message traffic Monday through Sunday (05 May through 11
May UTC).

     The first four days of UTC May 25 were "normal" to "elevated" levels
regarding HF message traffic; however, beginning UTC Monday 05 May 25 the
HFGCS entered a different phase of "normal:"

Monday 05 May 25 UTC:

0400z - 0630z window:

0416z: 5WHZQ2; 22 characters

0430z-0630z: NCS standing by for traffic h+00/h+30

0516z/0518z: NCS 4A5LXE; 4AT7CJ; NCS restorals/rebroadcasts of same at
0530z/0600z.

0622z: NCS 4AEWLQ.

0624z: NCS 5WHNKH; 25 characters.

(Possible demarcation point).

0630z: Nothing heard. The 4A string window was bracketed by 5W strings.

     Known active E6Bs on HF: NEW VILLA; DEER HORN; HEADACHE. Not seen on
ADSB mapping sites.

     No known/reported NCS message traffic 0625z through 2359z.

Tuesday 06 May 25 UTC:

     No known/reported NCS message traffic from 0000z through 1459z.

1500z - 1530z: window with NCS 4A strings at 1500z; 1513z; 1525z.  Nothing
following.

     No known/reported E6B activity on HF.

     No known/reported NCS message traffic from 1526z through 2359z. In
other words, except for a 30 minute window there was no known/reported
message traffic during the UTC day.

Wednesday 07 May 25 UTC:

     No known/reported NCS message traffic from 0000z through 1916z.

1917z: NCS 5WFWWF; 22 characters.

     No known/reported NCS message traffic from 1918z through 2359z. With
the exception of a single 5W string, there was no other known/reported
traffic for the UTC day.

     No known/reported E6Bs active on HF.

Thursday 08 May 25 UTC:

     No known/reported NCS message traffic from 0000z through 2359z.

     Known/reported E6B active: HONEY DEW.

Friday 09 May 25 UTC:

     No known/reported NCS message traffic from 0000z through 2359z.

     TIGER 02 ("over western IOWA") active at 0207z/0209z. Known/reported
E6B: METHODIST.

Saturday 10 May 25 UTC:

     No known/reported NCS message traffic from 0000z through 2108z.

2100z - 2130z window with NCS 4A strings at 2109z, 2112z, and 2115z.
Nothing following. See 06 May 25 for similar activity.

     Known/reported E6B: MONGOOSE (presumed GEST 58; TACAMO LANT);
SHOWsomething (maybe SHOWPIECE or ?; presumed E6B; not visible on ADSB
mapping sites).  No known/reported message traffic from MONGOOSE.

     No known/reported NCS message traffic from 2116z through 2359z. With
the exception of the 30 minute window of traffic there was no other
known/reported traffic for the UTC day.

Sunday 11 May 25 UTC:

     No known/reported NCS message traffic from 0000z through 1756z.

1800z+/- - 1900z window with NCS 5W strings at 1757z (22 characters); 1807z
(22 characters); and 1847z (22 characters).

     Known/reported E6B on HF: ANIMOSITY (presumed ANGLE 65 AFB66C;
2322z+/- ex TINKER; westbound on the southern GEP route); new day ANIMOSITY.

     No known/reported NCS message traffic from 1848z through 2359z. Except
for a one hour window of (interesting) 5W strings, there were no other
known reported strings.

In effect, UTC Monday through Sunday was very "quiet."
