2237z 07 Feb 25

A complex UTC day.

No post-0000z new UTC day station was heard with the daily communications
test count.

1402z+/- ICON 40 (E6B; eventual TACAMO PAC) launched ex OFFUTT and
immediately headed west bound.

11175.0 was active at 1420z with STONE AGE (ICON 40) calling and
raising ADJUTANT (NCS HFGCS) and entered the net at 1426z.

     1459z STONE AGE called FIRECAMP.

1500z STONE AGE called DANDELION (I suspect this to be the USSTRATCOM
CP). Again at 1507z and 1515z.

1510z+/- BABS 31 (E6B) launched ex TINKER. GULF bird.

11175.0 was active at 1517z with RAINFALL (BABS 31) calling ADJUTANT.

1531z RAINFALL worked ADJUTANT and entered the net.

1531z RAINFALL immediately called FIRECAMP with no response.

1537z RAINFALL called DANDELION and may have raised same. RAINFALL
began his formal message traffic script:

RCU KYI ABK
time 1538 ; I
 authenticate SE;
I say again; and repeats the 3 groups and out.,

     1550z RAINFALL called FIRE CAMP.

1550z DANDELION called RAINFALL and said "I authenticate 1538."
RAINFALL acknowledged.

1553z DANDELION called and worked RAINFALL. RAINFALL worked DANDELION:
"I have your last traffic loud and clear."

     1555z RAINFALL called FIRE CAMP.

1558z STONE AGE called and raised DANDELION. Both exchanged signal
checks. STONE AGE: into the formal message traffic script:

VFZ NHW KRU
time 59; authenticate CV;
I say again; and repeat the groups and out.

1605z DANDELION called and raised RAINFALL. "Authenticate last message
as 1603; over."

1615z STONE AGE called FIRECAMP and raise (fair/good levels). STONE
AGE began his message traffic script:

VFZ NHW KRU
time 18; authenticate YY
I say again; repeat the three groups; and out.

1619z FIRECAMP pops up on frequency and states "I copy all.' And quiet.

1646z RAINFALL (over the Gulf) broadcasts the 30 character EAM FBCHM2.

1650z ADJUTANT broadcasts FBCHM2 trailing RAINFALL's initial broadcast.

     1700z RAINFALL broadcast FBCHM2; H+00/H+30 restoral broadcast.
     1730z RAINFALL broadcast FBCHM2.

1733z FIRECAMP called and raised RAINFALL for an exchange of signal
checks.
1734z RAINFALL called and raised FIRECAMP: "How copy" "Fair/readable"

1735z RAINFALL called and raised FIRECAMP. FIRECAMP began his message
traffic script:

RCU KYI ABK
time 34
Authenticate N? (missed last character).

1736z FIRECAMP to RAINFALL: "Copy all."

1742z STONE AGE called and raised DANDELION for an exchange of signal
checks.

No message traffic passed. A connectivity check.

1800z RAINFALL: FBCHM2; restoral; weak (over Louisiana coast). Last
restoral.

1835z ADJUTANT broadcast the 30 character EAM FBF6VF.

1850z FROG POND; FBF6VF; TACAMO PAC (not named STONE AGE); h+20/h+50
restoral window.
     1920z FROG POND with restoral.
     1950z FROG POND with restoral.
     2020z Nothing heard.
Another example of one aircraft; two callwords. One for launch; one for the
message traffic.

The command posts now initiate comms.
The command posts now acknowledge receipt of the message traffic.
The command posts receive the same message traffic.
The traffic maintains commonality over multiple days of the last 3 element
groups (but it's new).

It doesn't sound like an exercise. It sounds like a new process as an
engineering work in progress.
