11175.0 was active at 0019z with SPELMAN conducting their post-0000z
new UTC day system wide communications test count.
For possible context the following can be followed on
ADSBExchange's playback function.
1402z TOM THUMB (E6B; BESET 11 ex TINKER 1357z+/-) called ACCUSTOM
(NCS HFGCS) multiple times, eventually raising them at 1411z, and entering
the net at 1413z.
1427z TOM THUMB called SPELMAN multiple times with no known response.
During these calls TOM THUMB was entering his first racetrack orbit of the
day over Wichita, KS extending to the south.
1627z: ACCUSTOM began a 30 minute window of multiple 5Q EAM strings.
1627z 40 characters; 1642z; 1645z; 1648,z; 1652z; 1655z - all 30 character
strings. During this time TOM THUMB was in his second racetrack orbit of
the day directly to the east of Fort Riley.
TOM THUMB eventually transitioned south back to WICHITA, entering another
racetrack orbit (extending to the north); and, eventually transitioning to
the east and into a racetrack orbit south-southeast of KANSAS CITY, MO.
2046z TOM THUMB (after leaving the KANSAS CITY orbit, and heading
toward TINKER) called SPELMAN.
2046z SPELMAN (weak on the SDR) called and raised TOM THUMB. TOM THUMB
requested that SPELMAN "standby for traffic." A moment later:
"Break; NIF KOP ABK; time 48; I authenticate CG; I say again; NIF KOP ABK;
this is TOM THUMB out." (ABK was the final group in yesterday's message
traffic as well.)
2050z TOM THUMB called STANDOFF with no known response.
2054z TOM THUMB called ACCUSTOM multiple times, finally raising
ACCUSTOM and exits the net at 2114z.
The above procedure is exactly like yesterday's activity. After net entry
the initial calls to the daily comm test count callword at the beginning of
their mission; the calls to the callword after the final orbit of the day
enroute to TINKER to pass authenticated 3-element, 3 groups to the command
post; and, a call to an unknown player (SPACE GUN yesterday; STANDOFF
today) before exiting the net through the NCS.
The 04 Feb 25 new UTC day comm test callword is QUIETMAN.
