[MilCom] TACAMO VLF Freqs..

They very much use VLF, that's how they talk to subs to get them up to 
communications depth and get on satellite.  The TACAMO aircraft (E6B) 
fly at a very high angle of attack to get the VLF antenna as close to 
vertical as possible
