They were on 250.200 this morning. Was not near a radio when this happen.
MATS 203 from Cherry Pt keeps 4 AV-8Bs at KILM airport for training, They
fly in out there all the time I see and listen to the guys day in day out.

They have been playing all day around Wilmington NC and over at the beach
which is about 5 miles away. He less than 4 air miles from KILM.

 

BREAKING: Wrightsville Beach beachgoers witness Marine Corps Harrier jet
crash, recovery.

An AV-8B Harrier with Marine Attack Training Squadron 203 takes off from
Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C., March 21, 2016. VMAT-203's
mission is to train Marine Corps aviators to pilot Harriers in the fleet.
The Harrier was the first Virtical/Short Takeoff and Landing-capable jet in
the Marine inventory, giving Marine Air-Ground Task Force commanders new
flexibility on the battlefield
