Another Sentry Savannah is underway after F-22As and T-38s from Tyndall AFB
arrived at Savannah IAP over the weekend. There are 16 F-22As from the 43rd
FS and 95th FS and 7 or 8 T-38s from the 2nd FTS. This morning, they
operated off of the Georgia coast in the offshore warning areas with F-16s
from the 55th FS at Shaw AFB using the same frequencies as used in previous
Sentry Savannah exercises. So far I haven’t caught any supporting KC-135s
operating out of Hunter AAF, but I saw what looked like a KC-135 on
approach to Hunter AAF while I didn’t have a radio with me (I didn’t see
anything on the Mode-S logs for it, though).
