I just watched Patrick AFB's HC-130N "King 24" (69-5824) depart Patrick AFB
for the last time. After the takeoff, he made a single low pass over the
750 Ramp to say goodbye to the troops. Now he is heading to the Boneyard at
Davis Monthan AFB. Three other Patrick C-130s will soon depart for the
Boneyard as well, as they are being replaced with other planes due to corrosion
issues on the old planes.
Farewell, King 24. Rest in peace.
Here is my photo of King 24 going off in the distance.
