I read last month that the USAF also plans to axe the B-1B & KC-10 
fleets entirely.  Even though the KC-10s are newer that the KC-135s, 
they have to have some sort of expensive avionics upgrade to allow 
flight in Europe.  I suspect they're will be a fight over the B-1B, but 
times are certainly different now.....
