: Last night around 11pm we had something electronic caused three honda
: vehicles to start blowing panic horns and one became unlocked. It affected
: only Honda products as far as me and the neighbors can tell. A clear
night
: no thunder or other shock to cause this.
Things like this have happened since the 60's with equipment in various
bands from HF (Class C frequencies) to UHF. Start by getting the FCC ID#
number off the
fobs that control these vehicles, look up the frequency of operation in the
FCC database, then monitor that with a modern wideband receiver, I use an
FT-7900 with an adequate antenna and see what's out there.
There has been a new radar system with the most unbeleivable mixture of
modulation schemes you've ever heard. I've been hearing it several hundred
miles from the source as well as some portable versions from about 300-450
MHz.
Typical frequencies for fobs are 303, 308, 310, 315, 318 and 418 MHz, and
there's an ISM band around 433 where radar has been playing a lot since last
year wiping out dozens of repeater links in the Ham bands.
