Sounds like someone discovered the smartphone ap for the Honda remote.
If you have used you remote to control any function on the car, the
scattered energy off of the skin of the car can be captured by a
smart phone or simular device.
Once the data is captured, it is not difficult to retransmit it to
perform the same action.
A knowledgeable person can determine what other codes can do things
and transmit these codes also.
Car remotes are not secure and should be used carefully if at all.
