Was stationed at that facility 1967-68 when it was James Connolly AFB. We
supported LBJ from there during his reign, before JCAFB closed in 68. I was
one of the last out the gate. Always wanted to get back there and look
around, and it may happen this summer.

Interesting....I was passing through Waco, Texas on Tuesday and saw one of
these
on approach to the TSTI Airport in Waco (has the L3 Facility that supported
SAM
28000/29000 during the Geo W years). I thought it was a TACAMO when I saw
it....it was odd to see a four engine plane and all white!
