Our friendly Tacsat 4 (2011-052A) DoD Milsat is on an ascending pass towards
apogee right now and located 11,900 km in altitude just south of Puerto
Rico. It's 253.000 MHz downiink is active with AM ATC traffic picked off by
its uplink. The 253.000 MHz downlink is a flame thrower here in Btown right
now. None of the other known UHF downlinks are currently active.

Subject: [MilCom] TACSAT 4 relay
Here is a short youtube clip of TACSAT 4's pass over the US on Monday. Sorry
for the quality I grabbed this at last minute with my phone. I am trying to
figure out what control tower is being relayed via the sat. Maybe some of
you with sharp ears can pull out what the female controller is saying. These
communications are not intended to be sent over the satellite, they just
happen to be broadcasting on this satellites uplink frequency. During this
pass the satellite was visible over the entire CONUS and Canada....
