[MilCom] Where Can I Get My Scanners Repaired in Southern CA?

If we have somebody out there who knows who made these models for Rat Shack, that might
be a good place to start. GRE made some radios for RS; whether or not they made these I
do not know. Some companies are "iffy" about servicing a "rebranded" unit which I think is largely
a contractual issue, in this case between the MFR and Rat Shack. That can also affect parts
availability.........sometimes parts will only be stocked and available for as long as is required,
and after that some companies simply dump them and some will keep them on the shelf. In that
latter case, it boils down to "if there's still one on the shelf, we'll be happy to sell it - if not, you're
SOL".
From what I have heard, sending a radio back through RS is about the LAST thing you'd have
wanted to do.............. YMMV

Subject: [MilCom] Where Can I Get My Scanners Repaired in Southern CA?
I own mostly older Radio Shack scanners (Pro-97's & Pro-2042's). Some
have been used extensively over the years and are in need of repair. R/S
won't service these scanners anymore.
I live in the Riverside, CA area. I'm retired and am willing to travel
anywhere in the entire southern CA region. I would prefer to drop them
off locally, but will consider shipping them to a distant, reliable
repair facility.
All suggestions appreciated.
Thanks,
<>< Mike
