Nasa Wallops Island is a strong candidate for being used as
practice landing runway for the Navy's E-2 and C-2 aircraft
from NAS Norfolk.I know that Wallops already has these aircraft
doing touch and goes from both NAS Norfolk and Pax River almost
every day I guess this would make it official and be a big boost to
Nasa Wallops along with all the rocket launches they have been doing
and the ones schedule in the future. Only thing I could see that would
stop this from happening is if there are complains about noise but I
doubt that since the area around the Wallops Island runway if owned
by the base or is woods/marsh area not too many ppl to complain
about noise. I was wonder if this works out maybe the Navy will
send some of the F-18's up here too the runway does have arresting
gear would make for some good monitoring!
