If you are/were a fan of FltPlan for BlackBerry hold on to your jump
seats because you are going to l-o-v-e FltPlan for Android. Not only can
you download charts w/ frequencies for every airport in the U.S. but you
also get instant weather w/ radar, NOTAMs, flight tracking AND you can
even file a flight plan. Whats even better is the app is 100% free!
There is one minor downside though. While the app itself is under 1MB,
in order to download airport data for an entire region you will need a
little over 400MB of space on your media card and a really good data
plan or WiFi connection. On an airport by airport basis though you'll
only need a couple megabytes so if you're only interested in say a half
dozen airports the entire download will run you about 7-8MB and 3
minutes of download time using a broadband WiFi connection.
If you are interested in checking out FltPlan for Android - you can
download it from Android Market on your phone or visit this link.
