053977 is the bit reversed ICAO24 code for EE9CA0. EE9CA0 has been seen in
the past as a test code and that might be what you had. Someone programmed
that in and the aircraft probably changed it back inflight. A great site to
check these sort of things is on Ralk Koth's website page: "Convert and
Lookup HFDL ICAO Aircraft ID" at http://www.kloth.net/radio/icao24lookup.php
More than likely it was AE041C 164410 that was seen in your area yesterday.
We Navy folks don't experiment with wierd stuff, uh, wierd hex codes. ;-))))
