Greetings everyone,

Friday evening Jan 7, heard Winnipeg Centre handing off NIGHTMARE 62 (CF-18, 419 Sqn Cold Lake) to Cold Lake Terminal 124.500. Sorry, did not note the time. Winnipeg Centre could not get a reply from NIGHTMARE 62. The controller then called NIGHTMARE 62 several times without reply. The controller then turned his attention to other aircraft, and I never heard him call again.

Saturday, Jan 8, between 2215 and 2245 UTC heard COUGAR 24 and 29 (CF-18, 410 Sqn Cold Lake). Just walked into the room to hear COUGAR 29 getting clearance for a hold. COUGAR 24 then given clearance for a Low TACAN approach to rwy 13 in Regina. COUGAR 24 then did the approach, being handed over to Regina Tower on 118.6. After the missed approach, COUGAR 24 cleared to the Calgary Airport, and handed back to Winnipeg Centre ATC on VHF 120.1, then 134.975.

At that point, COUGAR 29 was then cleared for the same Low TACAN approach into Regina. After the missed approach, COUGAR 29 also cleared to the Calgary Airport, and handed back to Winnipeg Centre VHF ATC 120.1, then 132.8.

The weather was fair in Regina, with snow and blowing snow, so they were barely visible from my window, but I could hear them after opening the window (at -15 C the other occupants of the house started complaining quite loudly).

Regards,

Rob
