The Russian cargo plane, largest plane in the world, was at BDL last week.
Flew over my work site. This is a BIIIIIIIIIG plane.

Subject: [MilCom] Big honkin' jet flew over
Wonder if anybody caught any comms - about 6:15 PM eastern AKA 22:15 UTC
over
Lafayette, IN, SE to NW............BIIIIIG contrail, BIIIIIG plane. My
fairly new camera was
able to zoom in partway, and I can zoom some more on the camera's back
display.
Clearly 4 engines, bottom of aircraft light possibly white. Tail - horiz
stabilizers low-mounted (not t-tail), single vertical stabilizer. Wings
appear quite long and swept well
back guessing 35 to 45 degrees........wings appear darker as if light gray
or gray-blue.
Engines are BIG, diameter close to or slightly exceeding 1/2 the width of
fuselage. Hard
to tell if wings are low or high mounted. Nose catches the eye - best shot
is from side
*opposite* the sun, and it looks as if there is a kinda dark stubby radome
up front with a
dark stripe extending back about half-way to the leading edge of the wing.
Any gueses?
(probably unrelated but just to mention - an hour or so earlier an F18 was
making some
passes down low at the Purdue Univ. airport - last seen gear down headed for
the deck)
