[MilCom] MCAS CHERRY POINT AIR SHOW

I can tell you some things that have kept me from air shows in recent years.
 
One of them *is* ticket prices going up.  That in itself wouldn't automatically be a deal-breaker but then add to that:
 
1) the number of airshows has declined in the area around me.  Partly that's due to military base closures in some cases, and also base commanders of those that are still open electing not to hold them.........the most frequent excuse I have heard has been something like "due to committment of forces elsewhere".........
 
2) taking #1 into consideration means travelling farther and with the cost of gas these days the added expense just to GET to one......
 
3) security stopping you from bringing stuff IN like coolers and so forth, which in some cases used to be cold for beverages and some cases used to be insulation and protection for food items..........odd how at about the same time, the vendor price of food and drink at airshows doubled or tripled..............
 
I suspect that given time, one or more of us will think of other issues but those are the ones that come most immediately to mind.  I love my airplanes dearly, and I love to go and see, hear, photograph, videotape, monitor, etc., all of it that I can but at some point it becomes too costly and too much of a pain in the ass.

FREE Admission & Parking (Tickets not required for open blanket areas). 

. Friday "Night Show" - gates open at 5pm - show begins at approximately
7:00pm and ends at approximately 
9:30pm with spectacular fireworks.

. Saturday and Sunday "Day Shows" - gates open at 8am - flying begins at
10:30am and ends at 4:30pm.

. Each show requires a separate "Preferred Seating" ticket. (Tickets not
required for open blanket areas). 

. There are no refunds for any advance seating purchases.
