Well spoken Dave.

I am one of those lowly code-free techs myself. I consider it a matter of
choice....MY CHOICE.
Could I go ahead and get my extra ? Sure....if I wanted to. I don't
listen to those folks that say "if you're not a general, you're not a ham"
Just because I drive a Corvette....I don't say "if you don't have a Vette,
you don't have a car"....again...a matter of choice.

I will happily remain a tech as long as I decide, and upgrade when and if I
want....not because someone wants to look down their nose at me. If
someone had to look down their nose at you...the tip of it must be smack-dab
in your business !

I admire those who do code. It's tricky Maybe some day I will say 'what
the heck' and just do it.

You've got it right , Dave.
