Sorry for the late post;
6/13 2050z
125.150 Reaper 09/Reading Regional airport, PA; AH64 Apache declaring an
IFE losing hydraulic pressure, looking for a place to put down.
Reaper 09 lands several hundred yards from a development in Lwr. Heidelberg
Twp, Berks County flying 100' over some homes. Reaper 09 calls Reading
apprch and says they will be off the freq calling Shadow Ops for assistance.
I searched but did not find their discrete. They called Reading back and
said a UH60 from Ft. Indiantown Gap will be coming out with maintenance to
fix their hydraulics. About an hour later I hear Guard 891 calling Reading
they are landing to help Reaper 09. Around 2230z Reaper 09 is airborne and
headed back to Ft. Indiantown Gap and Guard 891 calls Reading apprch says he
has to land at the airport to fix a loose door. Reaper 09 calls Ft.
Indiantown Gap, Muir Fld tower on 126.2 for landing; and Guard 891 is
enroute back also. The local news showed pictures at 10pm local and showed
the pilots talking to the neighbors. The Gap reported that the Apache was on
a training mission when the hydraulic problem cropped up.
Also, the range control freq at Ft. Indiantown Gap, 41.4, is still being
repeated on 412.85 pl 156.7.
