Thanks for all the ID help everyone. I was at the Dr. appointment a little longer than I wished and we were about 1/4 mile from the
airport when I heard "EMPIRE 11, cleared for take off". Argh!! Stuck at a red light, yet so close. He zipped off the runway and I
saw him for a split second between trees!!! Sure looked like a
Super Hornet with a large gas tank under the fuselage. Oh well, wish I could have taken a picture of the tail number and squadron
number. Sure was nice to hear some jet noise for a few seconds! Ahh, reminded me of Virginia Beach.
He took off at 1815z and was headed south to Quonset, RI at 10,000ft. working ZBW on 128.200 Not sure if he landed there or not.
