Copied some of the longest distance 225-400 Mhz comms to date yesterday. Mid morning yesterday I was able to copy HOIST 95 on 343.1 Mhz 23 miles east of El Dorado Kansas. HOIST was looking for a 4 ship and a 6 ship of fighters to drag east. I never was able to copy the fighters but HOIST was good readable. This was a rare 500 mile plus intercept. Since the addition of my latest antenna system I have been consistently logging longer distance comms. I recently have put a good bit if time into designing a high performance "DX" antenna if you will for the 225-400Mhz band. The antenna is a carefully designed log periodic antenna. I have been trying to keep some video logs of some of the stuff that I catch and post to Youtube. You can find my Youtube channel at http://www.youtube.com/user/declaredhostile?feature=mhw5. I hope to get some new videos up this week. I have logged some great stuff during some band openings this week in the 225-400Mhz band and some
rare rare Satcom catches, so check back often and I encourage others to post some video too of intercepts too..
