MA 104FW F-15 (x2) conducted a simulated scramble exercise.
Mission: Intercept and establish contact with a single engine Cessna-172.
Frequencies Heard: (all am mode)
228.900 Huntress Scramble Primary A/A
This freq was used for the entire exercise.
I also listened on 121.5 and 243.0 Guard/Emergency and heard nothing.
If it were a true emergency, initial contact with aircraft is attempted
on these frequencies.
Also had Bradley International tuned in as well and did not hear
anything unusual or anxious from the controllers re: above.
The F-15 pilots mentioned "simulation" during the exercise,
and I finally figured it out.
Was very exciting to hear! Loud and clear in Central CT.
After completing the exercise, the pilots talked to Bradley on:
281.500 BDL App/Dep and requested permission to transition to
Yankee/Lazer MOA.
Then switched A/A to: 259.900 (I have listed as W-105/Aux A/A.)
Faded out as they got further away.
Corrections/updates welcome!
