OK guys,
I have a problem here. I see some folks posting 15 or more freqs
a night with no problem.
I tune to those spots and hear nothing for days.
I will tell you my situation here. Alpha Delta DX-A twin slopers at
48ft. Gap voyager vertical, Hustler vertical, 8 element Force 12 Yagi
and a 51ft long wire. Diamond discone
15 R390xx, 4 with CV-591's, 4 Yeasu frg-100, 4 Icom r-100 and a
pro2006 scanner. They are all hooked up through Streidsburg Engineering
multi-couplers. And 1 Ten Tec-DX350 for band cruising
All of the radios are parked on freqs that I have seen spotted here.
The AF freqs like 11175, 8992, 6739, 4725 stay pretty busy all of the time
but the remainder posted by folks here on the group are 99.9% silent.
The other.01 is spanish....ooollllaaaa ooollaaa etc.
What is the secret to catching the transmissions? I do listen on USB and
cruise the bands posted. Is it just a matter of wrong place, wrong time?
I have on occasion heard an aircraft called Dark Star? on 5 megs
and some unidentified chit chat but thats all.
So, what is the secret? Tune slower? PC Radio with panadapter?
Anybody want to buy a complete listening post minus operator?
Regards, Scott
