[MilCom] Air Force proposal aims to eliminate 250 fighter jets

Before we know it were gonna have serious problems. Downsize, downsize, downsize to save money. They are putting all their faith in a couple aircraft that they think can accomplish "todays" mission with tiny numbers. Kinda makes me think of the aircraft that went into Vietnam with only a gun because the new missiles were "all you needed". By the end of the downsizing when it hits rock bottom the acctual number of weapons carrying aircraft are going to be very low. No point in have a shit ton of tankers and trainers with combat capable aircraft to take the gas and cockpits to man. I tihnk we must face that just becuase we have waged urban warfare in the last few years doesnt mean thats all there ever will be. Yeah there is no real need to fly a F-22 into a city in Afganistan and start shooting at a couple towel heads with the thing but I cannot agree that the urban warfare game is all were gonna have.
