ALE-NCR22NCR22IN is the Naval Contruction Regiment 22, the Double Deuce, is
located at Gulfport, MS.
A Naval Construction Regiments (NCRs) exercises administrative and
operational control of two or more Naval Mobile Construction Battalions or
other Naval Construction Force units operating in a specific geographic area
or operating in support of a specific military operation. A Regiment
normally consists of the Commander, the Regimental Staff and Battalions
assigned. There are Three Active and Four Reserve NCRs.
NCR22 exercises command and control of Naval Construction Force (NCF)
assigned units and to oversee the operational employment and logistics
support of deployed NCF units in the EUCOM, AFRICOM, and CENTCOM areas of
operation.
If I had to hazard a guess I would say that NCR21 is maybe doing workups
with Naval Mobile Construction Battalions 21 and 74 for a deployment. I have
already documented the movement of NMCB 7 to Afghanistan relieving NMCB-5 on
my Milcom Monitoring Post blog this week. Might be seeing more in the near
future.
Before I move on, the truman is underway off the east coast and I have some
freqs that have been monitored by members of the MNP team on the blog at
